Ronacher McKenzie at SEG Anaheim 2018

October 18, 2018 / by Jenna McKenzie

Ronacher McKenzie Geoscience was represented at the Society of Exploration Geophysics (SEG) Annual Meeting in Anaheim, California in October 2018. Principal Geophysicist, Jenna McKenzie participated in several of the SEG Mining (SEGMIN) sessions and events. The conference was preceded by a field trip to the porphyry-copper deposit in Bagdad, Arizona.

“Attending the SEG was a wonderful opportunity to connect with members of the SEGMIN community. My geophysics experience is much more centred in the exploration realm, so the trip to the Bagdad Cu-Au mine was an excellent to visualize how a target can transition to extraction, to the benefit of the local community and the greater economy.”

The SEGMIN committee also hosted its annual update, at which Jenna presented on an initiative by DMEC (DMEC.ca) to provide accessible, referenced geo datasets to the geoscience community.
